NEET 2026 Tie Breaking Rules

If two or more candidates score the same marks in NEET UG 2026 the following tie breaking criteria are applied in order

  1. Higher Biology marks (Botany + Zoology combined)
  2. Higher Chemistry marks
  3. Fewer incorrect answers candidate with fewer wrong responses gets better rank
  4. Older candidate gets preference if all above factors remain equal

NEET 2026 What Happens After Result

Step 1 – Check Your Score and Rank

Download your scorecard immediately after result declaration. Check your AIR rank and compare with previous year NEET cutoffs for your target colleges.

Step 2 – Register for MCC Counselling

All India Quota (15% AIQ) counselling is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) at mcc.nic.in. MCC counselling 2026 is expected to start in July 2026.

Step 3 – Register for State Counselling
